Ingredients:

  •  1/2 cup Butter
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 ounces Unsweetened Chocolate Squares
  • 2 1/4 cups Flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla
  • Several large Marshmallows, cut in half (optional)

Directions:

Cream butter and sugar. Add well-beaten egg and melted chocolate.

Sift together flour, salt, and baking powder. Add to first mixture alternately with milk or water. Add vanilla.

Chill dough. Roll very thin and shape with a small round cutter dipped in flour. Sprinkle tops with granulated sugar.

Bake in 350°F oven for 10 minutes.

Cut marshallows in half, cross-wise (for a thinner filling, you can cut into thirds or quarters depending on the thickness of the marshmallow.

While cookies are still warm, put a marshmallow in between two rounds and press down gently.
