🏃The Ringling Bridge was my favorite morning runs when we lived closer to downtown Sarasota. Even during hot days you get a nice breeze at the peak of the causeway and the walkway is wide so you feel safe and can easily pass other runners and walkers.
At night, it's fun to watch the sunset and the lights under the bridge click on. During the 4th of July they switched the lights to red, white, and blue. And then other times of the year they were a combination of red, blue, purple and orange...like a circus!
This bridge connects downtown Sarasota to St. Armand's Circle and the Lido Key beach. You can park near the marina and walk, run, or bike from there. There are actually two bridges to go over, the second one is smaller and the pathways are much narrower...but it's a short bridge.
Beneath the bridge are a couple of parks. You can fish, do some morning workouts, and there is a playground on the side closest to downtown for the littles. The bait and tackle shop sometimes has music at night.
Right now (April 2022), getting there is kind of a mess. They have been adding traffic circles around the downtown area so there is still a lot of construction. I still recommend you go if your in the area, just don't be in a hurry!

Main Street, USA
The little town of Edenton, NC on the Albermarle Sound...When Captain was alive, we took a drive here for the day.
Pretty little town, quiet, not much to do when compared to what a bigger city offers, but it is on the water so is a popular retirement destination. Friendly people.
If you love quaint towns and history, this is worth a stop. It seems the town grew up around the cotton mill. There is a connection to the Maritime Underground Railroad where enslaved people were given passage to a free state. Plus, many civil war trail sites can be toured to learn more about this time in our nation's history.

I took this during one of our trips to Asheville, NC.
It was fun to learn about how Asheville responded to Prohibition and to go down to see the tunnels that ran beneath the streets to run the rum.
In some places, they had double doors leading to the tunnels to slow down the police when they raided the operation.
Clever folks!
I learned that for some people, it wasn't so much about being against drinking...it was about married men dropping off their paychecks at the bars (where "respectable" women were not allowed). I guess the wives just wanted their men to actually bring the bacon home...
Seems to me a smarter move would have been to open up the bars to ALL women....I know plenty that can drink their men under the table...and then fry the bacon up in a pan...lol

As the world starts to open again (yay!) you can expect to see adjustments at the airport to mirror what we have all been experiencing over the past year:
*Masks
*Social Distancing
*Staying as "touchless" as possible
As you go through #airport security, you should consider placing those small items from your pockets (such as chapstick, coins, keys, jewelry, wallet, ID) into a bag so they don't touch the plastic bins.
Added benefit...less of a chance of leaving something behind!
Plus, some airport are allowing larger containers to go through security containing hand sanitizer. From one report I read, they indicated a 12oz bottle would get through and #TSA will most likely check it. That was the word from at least one airport so be sure to check where you are flying to see if they have the same policy.
